WB Delegation Visits Newly Established Preschools

On April 4, Ms. Shizuka Kunimoto ( WB Education Specialist, Task Team Leader) accompanied by Armine Khachatryan, the Project Manager of the Center for Education Project PIU, by Ruzanna Khachatryan , the head of the sub-component "Promoting School Readiness and Equal Opportunities at the Start of General Education", by Mher Melik- Bakhshyan the head of the sub-component “Equipping General Education Schools” visited Yerevan basic School No. 88, on the basis of which the preschool, established within the framework of the "Education Improvement Project Additional Financing" loan project, has become fully operational since September 1. The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the activities of the preschool established within the framework of the micro-project. The guests were welcomed by the school principal A. Hovhannisyan . The principal emphasized the importance of the micro-project implemented at the school, assuring that the effectiveness and quality of the educational process will be significantly improved due to the conditions created through the grant project. The visitors, toured the newly established preschool and visited the preschool yard, as well. The principal presented the process of establishing the preschool, discussing the challenges they had overcome and what lies ahead. The principal noted: "The preschool, designed for 25 children, is the brightest and the coziest corner of the school,"
As a result of the implementation of the project, the area envisioned for the preschool establishment has been completely renovated and the preschool has been furnished with appropriate modern equipment and furniture, educational materials and toys. Additionally, the teachers have undergone training. The guests also visited Yerevan basic School No 151, where newly established preschool has been fully operational since September 1, 2024. The WB delegation continued its visit to Aparan Primary School No. 2 in the Aragatsotn region of the Republic of Armenia, where the newly established preschool had started its activities from April 1, 2025. The guests were impressed by the results of the works done and emphasized once again the importance of micro-projects.
According to the principal of School No. 2 the residents of the community value the role of the preschool in the area, emphasizing that it is a great joy that their children have the opportunity to receive education in comfortable and beautiful conditions. Additionally, it should be mentioned that in the frames of the project in the 2024-2025 academic year 53 preschools have been established in the regions of Armenia and in Yerevan.
