TheProcess of Creating the "Brain Visualization Laboratory" was Presented to the World Bank Representatives

October 1-3 was filled with discussions and meetings on education, Within the framework of their visit to Armenia, on October 2, World Bank representatives headed by the World Bank Task Team Leader Ms Shizuka Kunimoto visited the COBRAIN Center of Yerevan State Medical University, established with the co-financing of the World Bank, and visited the premises of the newly created "Brain Visualization Laboratory". It should be noted that the center carries out research on the prevention of the human brain chronic diseases thus ensuring healthy brain activity.
Accompanied by Vice-rector of YSMU for science, Chief Researcher of the COBRAIN Center, Professor Konstantin Yenkoyan, World Bank representatives toured the area for the "Brain Visualization Laboratory", visited the COBRAIN Center, and got acquainted with the innovative researches being carried out.
Professor K. Yenkoyan pointed out that they already have tangible achievements and scientific results, and the “Brain Visualization Laboratory " will provide an opportunity to carry out scientific works in a perceptible and recognizable format for the world and to introduce new scientific and educational programs to be competitive with the best similar European laboratories, in particular determining and strengthening the place of Armenia on the scientific map of the world.
“Brain research in Armenia is entering a new phase,” added the vice-rector while talking about the capabilities of the laboratory being established. According to him, a new powerful brain visualization laboratory is being created on the basis of the scientific-educational center. By transforming the features of modern microscopy, cellular computation, and virtual reality, it will be possible to comprehensively visualize the cellular architecture of the brain, added K. Yenkoyan.
During the tour, while presenting the ongoing work, the professor mentioned that the new equipment will allow them to discuss the launch of an international PhD program in the field of neuroscience. K. Yenkoyan noted that the brain visualization laboratory will allow to take steps in line with global achievements.
The representatives of the World Bank mentioned that they were impressed with the results of the grant projects and thanked the " Center for Education Projects" PIU and YSMU representatives for their effective cooperation.
Once again, the importance of the grants provided under the Competitive Innovation Fundwas emphasized.
