Ongoing Monitoring of Current Grant Projects Has Begun

On January 14, the ongoing monitoring of current grant projects within the framework of the "Competitive Innovation Fund for Higher Education in Armenia" began in the CIF grantee universities. The first meeting took place at Yerevan State University (YSU). The monitoring was carried out by representatives of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia and the "Center for Education Projects" PIU. The meeting was also attended by AramPapoyan, an individual consultant providing professional support during the YSU grant project within the framework of the projects implemented by the "Center for Education Projects" PIU.
The workgroup members were welcomed at the Institute of Physics of YSU by the head of the Laboratory of Photonics and Artificial Intelligence, M.Raphaelyan. Together with M. Raphaelyan. the attendees visited the area allocated for the Educational Center for Optical Microsystems.. It should be noted that the area was renovated and furnished, reconstruction works were also carried out. The laboratory equipment purchased within the framework of the grant project was installed in the appropriate areas. During the visit, Aram Papoyan, together with the representatives of the university, inspected the laboratory equipment and supplies purchased within the frames of the grant project, checked their compliance with the technical specifications defined in the contract, as well as discussed the capabilities of the laboratory equipment. M. Raphaelyan provided a detailed presentation of the unique capabilities of the Confocal Fluorescence Microscope, emphasizing that new researches in accordance with international standards, are already being carried out using the device. M. Raphaelyan ensured, that the research and education center, equipped with the necessary technical infrastructure, will contribute to improving the efficiency of education and research effectiveness at YSU. During the meeting, the members of the monitoring working group discussed with the grant project management staff the activities envisioned by the schedule and their implementation process. M. Raphaelyan also ensuredthat several steps have been taken to update the content of the educational process, including the ongoing development of a new master's program in "Optics and Photonics." Work has also begun on developing a strategic plan to align this new master's program with international standards. Additionally, due to the availability of the new equipment acquired within the frames of the project, the courses and subject descriptions taught in the bachelor's degree have been revised. M. Raphaelyan emphasized that the center's specialists are collaborating with partners working in universities in foreign countries ,thus establishing new educational and scientific connections in the fields of education, science, and industry.
The members of the monitoring working group also noted that awareness-raising activities regarding the objectives and outcomes of the grant project should be continuous, accessible as possible, and more detailed information should be provided about the project goals and expected outcomes.
